Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, Kamakura

Nestled in the historical city of Kamakura, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu stands as a testament to the city's rich cultural past. This Shinto shrine, established in 1063, has been a focal point of spiritual life and a popular destination for pilgrims and tourists alike. Tsurugaoka Hachimangu is dedicated to Hachiman, the patron god of samurai and archery, which is fitting given Kamakura's legacy as the political center of the samurai government in medieval Japan.
