Sakurada Gate, Tokyo

The Sakurada Gate, known in Japanese as Sakuradamon, is a historic gateway that once served as one of the entrances to Edo Castle, the seat of power for the Tokugawa shogunate in Tokyo, Japan. It is situated in the Chiyoda ward and is one of the most significant historical sites in the city.

Constructed in 1620, Sakurada Gate is part of the Imperial Palace grounds and is surrounded by deep moats and massive stone walls, which were once integral to the defense of the castle.
