Luxembourg Travel Weather

April - May

Spring brings warming, with daytime temperatures oscillating between 13°C - 19°C, with slightly cooler 5°C - 10°C at night. Cloudiness decreases and the number of sunny and bright days increases. There may be fleeting rains and thunderstorms, but they are not so frequent and intense as to disrupt your visit.

Although the weather is not ideal, the spring months are a good time to travel to Luxembourg. It is possible to sightsee and hike mountain trails in the Ardennes without much trouble.

June - August

The warmest and sunniest months of the year. Usually there is no great heat, the temperature is moderate, 20°C - 25°C during the day, while at night it drops to 11°C - 15°C. There is little cloud cover, and the sun is in the sky for several hours.

Mountainous regions in the north of the country are generally a few degrees cooler than areas in the south. The summer period is also characterized by high humidity and increased rainfall.

Despite the increased rainfall, summer is the best time to visit Luxembourg and also the peak tourist season. The weather is favorable for both sightseeing and mountain trekking.

September - October

In September and October, although temperatures drop to 13°C - 19°C, we can still count on a large dose of sunshine. Without much concern about the aura, you can spend time on active recreation: hiking, cycling. Also, nature adopting autumn colors makes sightseeing more pleasant. However, it is necessary to take into account the increasingly frequent cloud cover and fleeting rainfall.

November - March

In November, the weather deteriorates and the cold starts to become noticeable (about 8°C). More and more days are cloudy and foggy.

The winter months (starting in late November and early December) bring a drop in temperatures to 0°C - 2°C, and in the Ardennes to several degrees below 0°C. Humidity increases and rain or drizzle can be expected more often. Especially in the mountains, snowfall is also possible, however, the snow cover does not last very long.

In general, winters in Luxembourg are fairly mild, big frosts usually do not occur even in the higher parts of the mountains. On the other hand, strong winds and cloudy and cold days are not conducive to sightseeing, so the winter period is outside the tourist season.
