Facts About Hook-billed bulbul
The hook-billed bulbul is a captivating songbird from the bulbul family, Pycnonotidae. This species thrives in the verdant forests and swamps of eastern Sumatra and Borneo. Unfortunately, like many other birds, it faces threats due to habitat loss.
This bird is not only known as the hook-billed bulbul; it is also referred to as the long hook-billed bulbul or the long-billed bulbul. When scientists first classified this species, they assigned it to its own unique genus, Setornis. Interestingly, this genus previously included another bird known as the hairy-backed bulbul, which was once identified by the scientific name Trichophoropsis viridis.
