The Fonoteca Nacional is a Mexican institution under the Ministry of Culture that preserves the sound heritage and promotes the culture of listening and sound through five priority activities: rescuing and preserving the country's sound heritage; making known the sound collection it guards; carrying out academic, artistic and cultural activities related to sound; promoting a culture of listening among the population, and stimulating the creation and artistic experimentation of sound.
