When Is the Best Time To Visit Montenegro?
The answer to the question of what is the best month to visit Montenegro depends on what you are interested in doing during your stay. Here you can see an overview of each month and its typical weather conditions.
Tourist Season in Montenegro
The best time to travel to Montenegro includes the summer months from June to August. The hot days encourage all kinds of recreation and activities, from beachcombing and sea bathing on the coast, to city sightseeing and mountain trekking inland.
The spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) periods, despite being a bit cooler and rainier still make for a good time to visit. Particularly for those wishing to avoid the worst of the heat, as well as for tourists focused on exploring the country, hiking and touring.
The winter months (November through March) are outside the main tourist season. When organizing a trip during this time, it is important to take into account temperature drops and increased rainfall, and in some regions, snow. Unpredictable and capricious weather can somewhat complicate a visit. In the higher parts of the mountains, the winter ski season is underway.
