Zilverstrand, Almere

Zilverstrand is a recreational area south of Almere. The recreation area is located east of the A6 and the bridge over the Gooimeer. On the other side of the bridge is the Almeerderstrand and on the other side of the Gooimeer is the Naarderbos.
Zilverstrand is best known for the presence of a nude beach.
The recreation area was regularly in the news because of the practice of sex by visitors, and because of extra police surveillance to prevent it.
Zilverstrand is closed until mid-2017 due to the construction of the second Hollandse Bridge and widening of the A6 highway.
