The Bovenste Molen is located on the Geul River in the hamlet of Höfke near the Limburg village of Mechelen in the Dutch municipality of Gulpen-Wittem. It is a middle-stroke mill. Downstream in the same locality is another mill, which is logically referred to as the Lower Mill.

About 400 meters to the southeast there is the castle Hurpesch on the Geul.
