Victorious War Museum, Pyongyang

The Victorious War Museum, also known as the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, stands as a monumental edifice in the heart of Pyongyang, North Korea. This imposing structure is dedicated to the Korean War, or as it is known in North Korea, the Fatherland Liberation War, which took place from 1950 to 1953. The museum's primary objective is to present North Korea's perspective on the war and to celebrate its supposed victory over the invading forces.

Spanning an area of over 120,000 square meters, the museum contains an extensive collection of artifacts, military equipment, and dioramas that depict various battles and events from the war. One of the main attractions is the USS Pueblo (AGER-2), an American Navy intelligence ship that was captured by North Korean forces in 1968. The ship is now permanently moored on the Potong River and serves as an exhibit.

The museum's architecture is grandiose, with its exterior adorned with socialist-realist statues and monumental artwork that glorifies the North Korean struggle and victory. Inside, visitors can find halls filled with photographs, war memorabilia, and documents, many of which are accompanied by English translations.
