Climate of Northern Mariana Islands
The Northern Mariana Islands lie in two climate zones: sub-equatorial - in the north (Northern Islands) and equatorial - in the south (other islands). Weather conditions between these areas are similar due to the influence of the ocean and warm ocean currents. Thermometers on all islands reach 24°C - 30°C, water temperature is constant, oscillating between 27°C - 29°C.
All islands experience high 80% humidity, varied rainfall and accompanying typhoons and thunderstorms. The Northern Marianas has a distinct rainy and dry season.
The rainy season lasts from July to November. It brings hot air and increased precipitation, usually in the form of short and intense downpours combined with thunderstorms and strong winds. Despite heavy cloud cover, sunny days also occur during this time.
The dry season covering the months of December through June. It is slightly cooler, but sunny and less humid. The transient rainfall that occurs is not annoying.
