The Norwegian Fisheries Museum is a museum in Bergen for fishing, catch and aquaculture, founded in 1880. The museum was named until 1993 the Fisheries Museum in Bergen and after the museum reform in 2005 became part of the Museum West.
The exhibitions show the Norwegian fishing industry from the modernization process put in towards the end of the 19th century, from a national and international perspective. The transition from Fiskarbonden's seasonal coastal fishing for year -round sea fishing in the highly expanded maritime territory. The museum also deals with today's fishing and aquaculture industry and focuses on resource management and Norway's role as a fishing history.
