Asaccus

Asaccus is a captivating genus of geckos belonging to the family Phyllodactylidae, commonly known as Southwest Asian leaf-toed geckos. There are currently 19 recognized species in this genus, with five new species described as recently as 2011.

Notable species include Asaccus caudivolvulus, Asaccus elisae, Asaccus gallagheri, Asaccus griseonotus, Asaccus kermanshahensis, and Asaccus montanus. It is important to note that when a species name is followed by its binomial authority in parentheses, it indicates that the species was initially described under a different genus.

The diversity within the Asaccus genus underscores the remarkable variation of these geckos in the reptile world.
