When Is the Best Time To Visit Oman?
The answer to the question of what is the best month to visit Oman depends on what you are interested in doing during your stay. Here you can see an overview of each month and its typical weather conditions.
Tourist Season in Oman
The peak tourist season in Oman is during the winter months - from November to March. This is the most favorable time to visit the area throughout the country. It is relatively cool and dry, and the air is clear. Temperatures range between 25°C and 30°C.
The summer months, due to extremely high temperatures, are better avoided. Some exception may be made here for the southern part of the country, the coast of Dhofar, Salalah and the surrounding areas, which are worth visiting precisely in the summer season - from June to September. That's when monsoons from the Indian Ocean transform the dry areas into a green land, full of streams and waterfalls, gardens bloom, and the hills delight with plantations of banana and coconut trees.
When going to Oman, it is worth taking into account the period of local religious and national holidays, such as Ramadan (a movable holiday), Eid al Adha, National Day (18.11). There may be difficulties then - closed stores, offices, local restaurants, tourist facilities and difficulties in public transport, which even without this in Oman is very scarce.
