When Is the Best Time To Visit Palau?
The answer to the question of what is the best month to visit Palau depends on what you are interested in doing during your stay. Here you can see an overview of each month and its typical weather conditions.
Tourist Season in Palau
Palau, due to its warm tropical climate, can be visited all year round. The best weather conditions are from December to March, when it is warm, sunny and dry - ideal weather for visiting all the islands and diving.
The months of the rainy season (June to October) also bring bright days, however, increased rains and thunderstorms can complicate your vacation somewhat.
In Palau, the diving season with good visibility (about 15 m - 30 m) lasts all year round. Then you can admire jellyfish in Jellyfish Lake, the coral reef and rich underwater flora and fauna.

- December-February • An excellent season for observing mantas.
- February-May • During these months you can observe sharks gathering and pairing up. From April a good time to peep at turtles.
- June-July • The lagoons have the best visibility, favorable conditions for wreck diving. Turtles can also be viewed during this time.
- August-September • Possibility to observe groups of juvenile sharks (size about 0.3 m). There can be up to a hundred individuals in one group. They are most often seen around Ngerchong, Turtle wall, German Channel and Short Drop Off.
- October-November • Season for observing mantas and sharks.
