The Monumental Museum of the Inquisition and Congress is a museum in Lima, the capital of Peru. It is located in the jirón Junín, at the height of the Plaza Bolívar. It is located in the former premises of the Tribunal of the Holy Office of the Inquisition in Lima, an ecclesiastical court with jurisdiction over religious crimes. With the end of the Viceroyalty and the beginning of the Republic, the place was occupied by the Senate and finally turned into a museum. The purpose of the museum is the investigation, conservation, exhibition and diffusion of the history of the Congress of Peru and its cultural heritage.
