New Year's Day is observed on January 1, the first day of the year on the modern Gregorian calendar as well as the Julian calendar. In pre-Christian Rome under the Julian calendar, the day was dedicated to Janus, god of gateways and beginnings, for whom January is also named.

31 March 2024 (Sunday)

Easter (Passover, Easter Sunday) - the oldest and most important Christian holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The week preceding it, which is the period of remembering the most important events for the Christian faith, is called Holy Week. The last three days of the week: Holy Thursday (evening), Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday are known as the Easter Triduum.

Easter Monday (also known as Wet Monday) - the second day of Easter. In the Polish tradition, water is poured over other people for jokes on that day. Pouring on water refers to old pagan practices, connected with the symbolic awakening of nature to life and the renewable capacity of the earth to give birth every year.

Labor Day (actually International Day of Workers' Solidarity) - international working-class holiday, celebrated annually since 1890 on May 1. The holiday was introduced in 1889 by the Second International to commemorate the events that took place in the early days of May 1886 in Chicago, United States, during the strike as part of the nationwide campaign to introduce the 8-hour working day.

3 May 2024 (Friday)

The holiday celebrates the declaration of the Constitution of 3 May 1791.

19 May 2024 (Sunday)

The day of Pentecost, commonly known as Pentecost, is a movable holiday in Christianity and falls 49 days (7 weeks) from the Sunday of the Lord's Resurrection. It is one of the most important liturgical holidays, celebrated over two days (especially in Protestant countries, e.g. in some federal states of Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Denmark). In Poland, the first day of Pentecost is a day off from work.

Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of the Lord (also commonly known as Corpus Christi) - a liturgical celebration in the Catholic Church in honor of the Blessed Sacrament. The faithful especially remember the Last Supper and the Transubstantiation of the bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.

15 August 2024 (Thursday)

The Christian feast day of the Assumption of Mary celebrates the belief that God assumed the Virgin Mary into Heaven following her death.

1 November 2024 (Friday)

A celebration in honor of all Christians who have achieved salvation and are in heaven. In the doctrine of the Catholic Church, it is an expression of faith in the communion of saints and a universal call to holiness. On All Saints' Day and the next day (All Souls' Day), Poles visit cemeteries to decorate the graves of their relatives with flowers and light candles.

25 December 2024 (Wednesday)

In the Christian tradition, it is a holiday commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ. This holiday is one of the oldest Christian holidays. The origins of its celebration date back to the 3rd century AD, although the exact date is not clear. Celebrating Christmas is preceded by Christmas Eve (December 24), which culminates in a gala dinner, traditionally eaten with family and friends.
