Muzeum Etnograficzne, Poznań

Ethnographic Museum in Poznań - a branch of the National Museum in Poznań, an ethnographic museum. It is located in the building of the former Masonic lodge at 25 Grobla Street. 26 June 1821 the first concert of Karol Lipinski took place here. The present building was erected at the beginning of the 19th century. It was entered in the register of monuments under entry number A019 on 22 October 1953.

As a branch of the National Museum in Poznań, it is entered in the State Register of Museums, kept by the minister responsible for culture and national heritage protection, in accordance with Article 13 of the Act of 21 November 1996 on museums.

The Museum was opened on June 7, 1987 with the participation of the Deputy Minister Krystyna Marszałek-Młyńczyk.

In the museum there are gathered relics of folk culture of Wielkopolska. Permanent exposition is: Folk art in Wielkopolska - sculpture, painting, costumes, embroidery, ornamentation and ritual props and musical instruments from the 19th and 20th centuries.

Prior to the opening of the museum, the building housed the Dom Spożywców, which opened on 15 August 1945 and was renovated at a cost of 80,000 zlotys from the contributions of the Grocers' Trade Union.
