Collegiate Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Kalisz - church in Kalisz, downtown, at St. Joseph's Square, built in 1353 by the foundation of Archbishop Jarosław Bogoria in place of an earlier church, rebuilt after 1790, late Baroque, with a Gothic chancel; parish church, since 1359 a collegiate church, since 1978 a minor basilica; entered in the register of monuments in 1965; national shrine of St. Joseph of Nazareth.
The painting of the Holy Family, in front of which Pope John Paul II prayed in June 1997, is located here. Every year the shrine is visited by more than 200 thousand pilgrims from all over Poland, mainly craftsmen.
