Kozi Grzbiet, Tatra National Park

Kozi Grzbiet - a ridge in the Czerwone Wierchy, in the Polish Western Tatras. It diverges from Krzesanica in a northwestern direction and separates two valleys below it: Mule Valley and Litvora Valley. The corridor for the Goat Ridge is located several dozen meters on the east side of the Krzesanica peak. The ridge is quite wide in the upper part, and becomes narrower at the bottom. It is overgrown with low grass, sometimes it is rocky. At its lower end there is an extension - an almost horizontal and flat lawn. This is the so-called Machajówka. In the north-western end of Machajowka there is a mound of Machajowa Czuba and below it the ridge starts to descend in the northern direction and ends with the Silt Town Hall, which descends almost vertically to Veľká Svistovka. The stretch of the ridge between Machajowa Czuba and the Silt Town Hall is called the Silt Ridge. There are two faults in it, about 15 m high. The faults are rocky, the rest of the Mud Ridge is grassy.

The conventional lower border of the Kozie Ridge is the upper part of the Machajówka. An extension of this ridge extends a little further down below Machajowka. The eastern slopes of Machajowka, Mule Ridge and Mule Town Hall, forming one whole, are the steepest parts of this ridge. They are about 200 m high and descend to the lower part of the Litvora Valley. In winter, an icefall of about 80 m usually forms on them. However, from Litvorova Rovnaya there is an easy-to-follow west ridge called Litvorova West. It leads about 50 m below Machajowa Czuba.

In the literature Goat Ridge is sometimes called Goat Mushroom. This is an incorrect name, resulting from a twist of the folk name. Inside the Goat Ridge there is Goat Cave with an outlet below Machajówka, on the eastern slopes of the Goat Ridge.

Rare plants include the robust astragalus, a species found in Poland only in the Tatra Mountains and only in a few locations.
