Church dedicated to St. Apostle John the Theologian - an Orthodox branch church in Nowoberezów. It belongs to the Parish of the Ascension of the Lord in Nowoberezów, in the Hajnówka decane of the Warsaw-Bielsk diocese of the Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church.
Built in 1771 on a rectangular plan as a Uniate temple. Its founder was Izabela Branicka. It is a wooden, planked, timber-framed, non-oriented church. Inside there are polychromies on the ceiling. The chancel is closed in a straight line. In the southern part there is a sacristy, in the northern part - a porch with a tower-belltower, built in 1883 on a square plan. Tin roofs of the church. Entrances are preceded by gable roofs supported on four pillars. The tower is topped with a pyramidal cupola. Above the nave the gable roof with a tower topped with a spherical cupola. Above the presbytery the gable roof.
St. John the Theologian Church was originally a parish church. It was converted to a branch church at the end of the 19th century after a new brick church of the Ascension was built.
In the second half of 2016, the church underwent a major external renovation - the door and window woodwork was replaced, the roof over the side annexes was replaced, the porches at the entrances were restored and the walls were repainted. In 2021, renovation work was done inside the church - the walls, floor and elements of the church equipment were repainted, and the bell tower and the room for liturgical vestments were panelled. The renovation was financed by funds from the Marshal's Office of Podlaskie Voivodship, the Church Fund of the Ministry of Interior and Administration and the parish's own resources.
Near the church there is a well - a place, where on January 18 and May 21 water is consecrated. In addition, near the church there are: the grave of the Gromotovich family, the grave of Father Klochkovsky, the grave of an unknown soldier and several votive crosses.
The church was entered in the register of historical monuments on November 3, 1951 under No. 9.
