Facts and practical information
Dolina Miłości w Zatoni Dolnej - a landscape and naturalistic park spread over the hills and valleys called "Dolina Miłości" between Krajnik Dolny, Krajnik Górny and Zatonia Dolna in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in Gryfino County, Chojna Municipality. It covers an area of about 80 ha on the slopes of the hills formerly known as "Górki Zatońskie", descending towards the Lower Odra Valley.
The park was established in the 1850s by the French Humbert family, outside the palace and park complex of the knight's domain in Krajnik Górny, on an undulating terrain cut by deep ravines. The slopes of the hills are cut by numerous alleys. The composition elements of the park are numerous boulders with inscribed dates and names of the von Humbert family members, as well as prominent personalities of German culture, and two garden sculptures "ADAM" and "EWA" situated in the middle of the ponds. From the former elements of the park's spatial layout there are clear communication routes: roads, alleys, rows, and walking paths. The basic species composition of the old forest has survived, which includes: beech, ash, ash-pine-birch, pine-olive-ash, as well as ornamental trees and shrubs such as plane trees, threespine gledits, black pine, Wejutka pine, chestnut trees, Douglas-fir, walnut trees, dry-woods, kalinas, boxwoods, and snowdrops. Among the trees there are trees with the character of natural monuments. The park is one of the largest landscape complexes with a clear composition in the lower Odra valley. Due to the preserved features of the naturalistic park with romantic fragments from the 19th century, it is subject to conservator's protection - on 16 March 1992 it was entered in the register of monuments under no. 1208.
The Love Valley is a reference area and there is no forest management here, and activities can only concern places directly adjacent to the park infrastructure due to safety hazards, consisting of removing windfall trees from paths, dry trees near ponds. It is a valuable object visited by naturalists and wildlife enthusiasts.
