Independence Monument - Szczecin, Słoneczne estate, 105 Jasna Street, 50 m south of Ruby Pond, halfway to school.
Monument designed by an informal group composed of: Jerzy T. Lipczyński, Przemysław Biryło, Tomasz Flejterski, Wojciech Kokowski. The cornerstone was laid on September 1, 1998. The monument was officially unveiled on December 20, 2001.
A modern composition of shining steel and blue glass. Three spaced monumental plates, leaning towards each other, lean against each other at the top. In the northern panel, at the top, there is a "window" with the denarius of Bolesław Chrobry. In the largest "window", in the central stele, there is a manuscript of Mazurek Dabrowskiego and a third, narrow, vertical "window" with an unscripted page of the future. All windows are made of blue glass, the color symbolizing the continuity of the Polish nation and independence thought.
The initiators and executors of the monument were: Colonel Stanislaw Bialek and soldiers of the 5th Engineering Regiment from Szczecin Podjuch.
