Cmentarz Kiełczowski, Wrocław
Facts and practical information
Psie Pole Communal Cemetery - a cemetery in Wroclaw, founded in 1996 on the Psie Pole housing estate. Due to its official name it is often called Kiełczowski Cemetery or Cemetery on Kiełczowska Street.
The decision to build a new municipal cemetery was made due to the fact that the two biggest necropolises in Wroclaw have run out of burial places: Osobowicki and Grabiszynski. The cemetery in Psie Pole meets the requirements of modern cemeteries and is suitable not only for traditional burials but also for urns, both in the ground and in columbaria. Ultimately, the cemetery will have an area of 40 ha; currently, it covers 9.4 ha. The cemetery complex also includes management buildings, a funeral home and a crematorium - the only one in Wroclaw.
