Facts and practical information
St. Martin's Church in Jarocin - one of the oldest churches in Greater Poland. The first information about the church comes from 1257. At that time it was a wooden church, built by Jarocki, the heirs of Jarocin, coat of arms Rawicz. In the years 1773-1787 Jan Radoliński, chamberlain of Wschowa, thoroughly rebuilt the church.
The church was built on the plan of a Greek cross, oriented, with one nave. There are 5 altars in the church: the Great Altar, the Altar of St. Anne, the Altar of Transfiguration of St. Stanislaus Kostka and the Altar of Mother of Sorrows in the Radolinski Chapel.
The main altar built in the eighteenth century in the classical style attracts the greatest attention. Also interesting are the wooden Baroque sculptures of St. Andrew the Apostle, St. Stanislaus Kostka, St. Stanislaus Bp. St. Nepomucen, St. Francis Xavier, St. James Ap.
In the church there is also XVIII century baroque pulpit decorated with figures of saints.
