Kościół pw. Matki Bożej Zbaraskiej
Facts and practical information
Church of Our Lady of Zbaraska in Pralkovce - a brick parish church, formerly a Greek Catholic church, located in Pralkovce.
The temple was founded in 1842 by Eustachy Druzhbacki, in place of an older, wooden church, which burned down in 1840.
After the displacement of the Ukrainian population in 1945-1947 it was taken over by the Roman Catholic Church. In the 1960s it was renovated. The choir, sacristy and priest's apartment were added. Nowadays the church belongs to the Michaelite priests.
In the main altar there is a painting of Our Lady of Czestochowa from the sixteenth century painted on a copper plate. Today it is set on a metal plate with reliefs of Polish eagles. The painting was originally located in the church of the Bernardines in Zbarazh. According to tradition, King Jan III Sobieski prayed before it. King Michał Korybut Wiśniowiecki funded a silver cloth for it. After World War II, the Bernardine friars transported the painting to Lezajsk, and since 1972 it is located in Pralkovce.
The wooden belfry was included in the Podkarpacie Wooden Architecture Route.
