Rezerwat Łężczok
Facts and practical information
Łężczok Nature Reserve - a water nature reserve in Silesia Province, Racibórz County, located between Racibórz, Nędza, Zawada Książęca and Babice. It is located in the Landscape Park "Cystercian Landscape Compositions of Ore Mountains". It has a rich fauna and flora, and more than half of the bird species living in Poland can be admired there. There are two hiking trails and one bicycle route. The status of the reserve has had since 23 January 1957.
It originally covered an area of 396.21 hectares, but has been expanded - the last time in 2015 to 477.38 hectares.
The reserve is located in the Rudy Raciborskie Forest District. Supervision is exercised by the Regional Nature Conservator in Katowice. The reserve does not have a protection plan, however, there are protection tasks in force, according to which the area of the reserve is under active protection.
