Facts and practical information
Trzebinia Regional Museum - an exhibition facility dedicated to the history of industrial development in Trzebinia. It was opened on 25 August 2010 at 1 Grunwaldzka Street together with a separate area of the "Zbyszek" shaft of the former Siersza Coal Mine, where the shaft tower and the building with the hoisting machine are located. Since 1996 the institution has functioned as a much more modest Museum of the Trzebinia Region. Initially, the exhibits gathered by the "COR" Association of Trzebinia Region Enthusiasts were displayed in two rooms in the Zieleniewski's Manor in Trzebinia. In 2004, the authorities of Trzebinia granted the Association the use of the former mining bath in the area of the disused mine shaft "Zbyszek" in Trzebinia, where the Permanent Industrial Exhibition was soon opened. The building was renovated and in 2006 an exhibition dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the mining tradition in the Trzebinia area was opened.
Among the exhibits presented in the museum, one can see old flags, commemorative pennants, medals and badges, mining maps and mining permits. The museum also presents miners' working and formal attire, photographs depicting the rich history of the liquidated Siersza and Trzebionka coal mines, as well as various types of mining equipment and devices. There are also archival books and folders devoted to mining, miniature models of mining equipment, e.g. conveyors, carriages, shafts, mechanised and wooden casings, ventilators, wheelwheels.
