Scout monument on Za Cytadelą Street - a monument commemorating fallen and murdered scouts from the Old Town in Poznań. Located on the northern edge of the Citadel, on Za Cytadelą Street, corner of Żniwna Street.
The object has the form of an irregular obelisk, made of light-colored stone. It is accompanied by a metal plaque with an inscription: To the Fallen and Murdered in the Fight for Fatherland's Independence - Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts from the Old Town of Poznan. 1918-1919. 1939-1945. Scouts of Hufce Piast. The obelisk bears the scout insignia and is topped with a stylized eagle.
Designers and authors: plaque by Józef Kaliszan, stone work by Marian Skrzypczak, plaque casting by Saturnin Skubiszyński, commissioned by the City Committee for the Protection of Struggle and Martyrdom Sites, funded by the Piast Scouts.
The unveiling in its present form took place in 1987, when the previous inscription was removed: We commemorate the victories of our fathers and the insurgent scouts of the years 1918-1919 and the inscription Zuchy, scouts and scouts and instructors of the ZHP Hufca im. Powstańców Wielkopolskich. Poznan Old Town. Attention was drawn in the press at the time to the illogical wording of the phrase to those killed in battle.
