Facts and practical information

Saint Nicholas Church in Powidz - Roman Catholic parish church located in Powidz village, on Kościelna Street.

It is a neo-Gothic temple built in 1863-1864 of burnt brick. In 1868 it was consecrated by bishop Józef Cybichowski, suffragan of Gniezno. It has older equipment such as: Madonna and Child on a lion, a Gothic wooden sculpture from the 3rd quarter of the 14th century and a painting of the Virgin Mary surrounded by saints with a portrait of the founder from the 1st quarter of the 17th century, presumably from the Venetian school. The polychromy of the temple made in sgraffito technique in 1958 was painted by the Torwid professors from Torun.
