Facts and practical information

Szczekotowo - archaeological and natural reserve located in the Białowieża Forest, in quarter 214, in the Hajnówka municipality, Podlaskie province. Object of protection: preservation in a natural state of the Łutownia River in the Białowieska Forest together with sites of barrows. The dominating type of the forest is oak-hornbeam. The name "Szczekotowo" comes from the name of the village Szczekotowo, which existed in this place in the 17th-18th centuries.
