Rezerwat Wąwóz Szaniawskiego

Wąwóz Szaniawskiego Nature Reserve - a forest nature reserve established in 1977 in the village of Jadwisin in Serock commune.
Initially, it occupied 11.50 ha. In 2011 it was enlarged to 13,9312 ha. Around the reserve was set a buffer zone of 34.03 ha.
The aim of protection is to preserve near-natural tree stands characterized by a diversity of plant communities. In the reserve there is a mixed forest with pine and monumental oak trees growing on the slope of the ravine and the high slope of the Narew valley.
Other species found in the reserve include maple, linden, hornbeam, hazel undergrowth, alpine currants, and hawthorn. The remnants of the park stand consisting of thuyas, Canadian poplars and robinias are a diversification. There are 34 natural monuments in total, including 2 boulders - granites.
The name of the reserve comes from the name of Jerzy Szaniawski, who owned a manor house located in the area of the current reserve.
