Józef Mehoffer's bench - a monumental bench, located in Turek on Mehoffer Square, next to Henryk Sienkiewicz Square and the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
Józef Mehoffer is associated with Turek as the author of polychromies, oil paintings and stained glass designs for the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Sienkiewicza Square. He also became an honorary citizen of the city.
The author of the design of the bench is Maja Brzyska, and it was a graduation project of the Koło Art School Complex. The ceremonial unveiling was attended by the artist's grandson, Ryszard Mehoffer, Maria Sokół-Augustyńska, Małgorzata Przysiecka and Agata Koszczan. The act of handing over the bench for use was performed by the Mayor of Turek - Zdzisław Czapla, the Starost of Turek - Ryszard Bartosik, the Director of the Complex of Art Schools in Koło - Krzysztof Pawlak and Father Krzysztof Kamiński from the local parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The project was financed by the City of Turek.
The monument is one of the manifestations of the city's promotional strategy under the slogan Turek - a city in the Mehoffer climate. It is the first monument in Poland commemorating the artist.
