Stanislaw Moniuszko Park in Lodz - a park located in the following streets: Składowa, Kilińskiego, Narutowicza, Polskiej Organizacji Wojskowa. It was created in 1875, total area is 2.3 ha.
The park was established in 1875 as a public square for the people using the Łódź Fabryczna railroad station, whose building was erected in 1868. In today's park area there was a forest, so it was necessary to build paths leading to the station. The first plans of the park were made by the urban architect Hilary Majewski. It was the second park in Lodz.
Pines, spruces, birches, maples, chestnuts, lindens, poplars and weeping willows were planted in the park - some of them still grow in the park today. In the middle of the park there is a square with a decorative flower-bed. The park was reconstructed in the 1930s. In 1884 St. Alexander Nevsky Orthodox Cathedral was erected in the park. The park came to be unofficially called Alexandria Park.
In the 1960s, the park was renamed to the Stanislaw Moniuszko Park, the composer of the Lodz bugle call Prząśniczka. In the park there is a monument - bust of Stanislaw Moniuszko, founded in 1963 by the citizens of Lodz. The authors of the sculpture are Lodz visual artists Elwira and Jerzy Mazurczyk. Initially, the monument faced Narutowicza Street, but in 1970 it was turned at the request of the citizens. Together with the monument, the center of the park consists of three flowerbeds.
In the park there is a natural monument: a common beech. In 1994-1995 the park was partially fenced with a low wall. In 2000 the oldest trees in the park were professionally maintained.
In 2019-2020, the park underwent a revitalization that included the renovation of alleys, new urban furniture, plantings, the construction of a playground, and the enlargement of the park by about 600m2. at the expense of the area at the intersection of Kilińskiego and Rodziny Poznański streets, where a tenement house originally stood.
