Kościół pw. Matki Bożej Szkaplerznej
Facts and practical information
Church of Our Lady of the Scapular - a neo-Gothic Catholic branch church located in Tarnówek in the municipality of Połajewo. It belongs to the parish in Boruszyn.
The church was built between 1907-1909 as an evangelical temple. In the period of Second Polish Republic it was owned by a parish belonging to the superintendency of Oborniki-Chodzież Evangelical Union Church.
The object is located on the north-eastern edge of the village. It forms a compact complex with a former pastor's house. The object was modeled on the church in Jablonowo Pomorskie. Both refer in style to the fourteenth-century churches in Dobrinland, which was related to the building recommendations of the Prussian authorities. The Nazi occupants closed the church and after World War II it was handed over to the parish in Boruchyn.
The object was built of burnt bricks. The roof is covered with ceramic tiles. The western and porch gables are decorated with narrow plastered blendes and pinnacles. The furnishings include an organ with three pipe boxes topped with a crenellation and a Neo-Romanesque chandelier.
