St. Mary Magdalene Parish is a parish of constant changes. Twenty years ago it embraced the town and almost the whole commune of Leczna, today only their parts. Over the years, several new parishes have spun off from the mother center: first St. Barbara in Leczna, then in Ludwin and in 2003 St. Joseph, the Protector of Families in Leczna. St. Mary Magdalene Parish combines tradition and modernity in its daily liturgy. Every year we solemnly participate in the service of consecration of fields, Corpus Christi procession, Indulgenced Feast of St. Mary Magdalene - our patron saint, and in many other celebrations rooted in Polish tradition. Several years ago, as the first parish in the city, we celebrated St. Barbara's Day on December 4, a popular holiday. Currently, every parish in Łęczna celebrates St. Barbara's Day. Despite this, the miners' banner, which remembers the first St. Barbara's Day in Leczna, still appears in processions, ceremonies and during funerals. An important determinant of the Church's mission is its charitable and caring activities. In the past, it manifested itself in tasks carried out by the Holy Spirit Church in Leczna. Nowadays this kind of activity takes different forms in the parish. Since 1996 there has been a CARITAS Care Station, the first and the only one in the Lublin diocese. In recent years it has changed the rules of its operation, cooperating with the National Health Fund on the basis of a signed contract, covering long-term care in the patient's home. From the very beginning the station has also been renting rehabilitation equipment necessary for the care of the sick.
