Kościół pw. św. Michała Archanioła
Facts and practical information
St. Michael the Archangel Church in Grzybów is a historic Roman Catholic parish church in Grzybów, Września County, Greater Poland Province.
In 1399 the first mention of a place of worship in Grzybów appeared. Piotr Ćwikiełka and other owners of Grzybów gave the church land to build a chapel. It was founded in 1440 with the rights of a parish church, but was considered a branch of the Gozdów church. In 1641 the local owner Stanislaw Turski increased the church's endowment, and in 1757 it was renovated by Stanislaw Otto-Trempczynski. In the church equipment there are bells from 1542 and from 1688 and a processional lantern from the second half of the nineteenth century. In 1999, a statue of Our Lady of Fatima was placed on a granite pedestal in front of the church.
The church is oriented, log, with a narrow chancel. The main nave is wider than the chancel. There was a barrel vault over the chancel and a flat vault over the nave - now the vault is unified over the whole. Rainbow beams are installed across the church. The roof is covered with shingles. There is a sacristy on the northern side. In the twenties a bell tower with a copper roof was built, and in 1929-1930 a tower was built on the western side. In its first floor a porch was built, separated from the church interior by a door, which was later removed. A spiral staircase to the choir was placed inside.
