Facts and practical information
Barania Góra Nature Reserve - a forest reserve in Kielce County, in the municipality of Strawczyn. The reserve includes the southern slopes of Barania Góra in the Oblęgorski Range above Oblęgorek, within the boundaries of the Suchedniówsko-Oblęgorski Landscape Park and the Suchedniów Forests Natura 2000 area.
The protected area was established in 1994 in order to preserve, for scientific, didactic and tourist reasons, the natural diversified forest communities and the common ivy occurring here. The reserve's forest stand includes the forest complex of subcontinental oak-hornbeam in the variant with fir and acid mountain beech. In the species-diverse tree stand there are oaks and beeches of monumental dimensions. In the reserve there are protected species of vascular plants: common crowfoot, wolfsbane, common centurion, and sword-leaved beech.
Through the reserve leads the black trail from Oblęgorek to the top of Barania Góra. The main Edmund Massalski Swietokrzyski trail marked in red runs along the ridge of Barania Góra in the vicinity of the reserve, a few dozen meters from its borders.
