Kościół ewangelicko-augsburski Przemienienia Pańskiego w Nowym Sączu, Nowy Sącz

Evangelical-Augsburg Church of the Transfiguration of Our Lord in Nowy Sącz - is a former chapel of the Transfiguration of Our Lord, belonging to the defunct Franciscan monastery - liquidated as a result of the Josephine cassation. The former monastery complex of the Franciscans in Nowy Sącz was founded in 1297 by Waclaw II. In the center of the plot there was the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, surrounded by many chapels. One of them was the Chapel of the Transfiguration. It was expanded to its present form from the foundation of the starost of Nowy Sącz - Konstanty Lubomirski, and took place in the years 1654-1672. The present Evangelical church has a clear three-part layout, and the entire architectural composition is maintained in the Baroque style. In the chapel there is a tombstone of Jan Dobek Lowczowski, he was a founder of one of the unchanged chapels. Under the chapel there is a crypt. Since 1800 the chapel is in possession of the Evangelical-Augsburg Parish in Nowy Sacz.
