Facts About Meo Sudoeste
MEO Sudoeste is an expansive five-day music festival that began in 1997. Every August, music enthusiasts make their way to Odemira in southern Portugal for this illustrious event. Sponsored by the telecom company MEO, the festival provides a diverse musical experience across three stages.
The main stage, Palco TMN, has hosted renowned acts such as The Prodigy, Daft Punk, and Madness, delivering electrifying performances. If you prefer alternative sounds, the Mundo Sudoeste stage is ideal, spotlighting artists like Breakestra and Afrika Bambaataa. Reggae fans will find their groove at Palco Positive Vibes, which has featured legends like Jimmy Cliff and Israel Vibration.
One of the significant perks of MEO Sudoeste is that purchasing a four-night ticket grants you free access to the camping facilities. However, the excitement extends beyond the music. During the day, attendees can relax at a jazz bar or take a shuttle to Zambujeira do Mar for shopping, dining, and enjoying the beach.
Throughout the years, the festival has enjoyed various sponsors and boasted an impressive lineup of artists, including The Cure, PJ Harvey, Muse, and Massive Attack. It has also expanded and evolved, adding new stages like Kubik and Samsung Experience, thanks to ongoing sponsorships from companies such as TMN and MEO.
