Castle of the Moors, Sintra

Perched atop the Sintra Mountains, the Castle of the Moors stands as an emblem of Portugal's rich historical tapestry. This striking fortress, with origins dating back to the 8th century during the Moorish occupation of the Iberian Peninsula, offers a window into a bygone era when Islamic culture flourished in the region.

The walk along the castle walls is a highlight, offering breathtaking views of Sintra, the Pena Palace, and on clear days, the city of Lisbon.
