The Amor da Pátria Society MHM is a Masonic society founded in the city of Horta, Azores, on November 28, 1859. A masonic lodge, under the influence of the Lusitanian Grand Orient, under the motto "Love for the Homeland is what guides us", the Sociedade Amor da Pátria imposed itself in the Faial and Azorean environment for its altruistic, socio-economic and cultural purposes.

The history of the Amor da Pátria Society, a Public Utility, Recreational, Cultural, and Philanthropic Institution, founded almost 160 years ago and awarded by the Presidency of the Republic with the Order of Merit, is intertwined with the history of the last century and a half of the city of Horta, Faial Island, such is the importance it has had in this city, where it has indelibly marked culture and society.
