Pic Adam
Facts and practical information
The Adam peak is a mountain peak on the island of Reunion, a French overseas department in the southwestern Indian Ocean. Part of the Piton des Neiges massif, it culminates at 1,124 meters above sea level on the territory of the commune of Saint-Denis, the capital. It is also part of the National Park of Reunion Island.
Adam Peak is best known for the two hiking trails that reach it by climbing from the heights of the Bois-de-Nèfles district, which it overlooks. After going around its summit, these trails meet at 1 184 meters high to form a single path which itself ends at 1 725 meters, altitude where it meets the long distance hiking trail GR R2 going up to the Roche Écrite. Thanks to this network, the Adam Peak is a popular destination for walkers in the north of the island.
