Facts and practical information
The City Hall in Oradea is a building located on the northwest side of the Central Square. It was erected between 1902-1903 according to the plans of architect Kálmán Rimanóczy. The palace stands on the former site of the 18th century Catholic bishopric. A special feature is the asymmetry of the building plan, combining eclectic and Renaissance styles.
The building is provided on the side facing the Crișul Repede with a 50 m high clock tower. In 1944 the original roof burned down in the battles for the conquest of the city by the Romanian-Soviet troops.
