Meteor-193, Kazan
Facts and practical information
"Meteor" was a massive series of Soviet high-speed hydrofoil-powered river passenger ships developed by the Gorky Central Design Bureau for SPK under the leadership of Rostislav Alekseev. Good seagoing qualities allow the Meteors to go on coastal voyages in coastal areas of the sea. Along with the smaller ship "Raketa", "Meteor" was and is the most widespread SPK in the USSR and in the world, being operated in almost two dozen countries in different places of the planet.
It served as a basis for the similar streamlined aerodynamic design of mass river counterparts of smaller dimensions "Belarus" and "Voskhod", single river counterparts of larger dimensions "Sputnik" and "Burevestnik", as well as mass specialized marine counterparts "Comet" and "Kolkhida".
