Monument to St. Mitrophan of Voronezh is a bronze sculpture depicting Mitrophan of Voronezh, the outstanding spiritual educator of Russia and first bishop of Voronezh. Installed in Voronezh, in the Pervomaisky Garden, opposite the Annunciation Cathedral. The authors were sculptors I.P.Dikunov and E.N.Pak, architect V.P.Shevelev. Sculptors A. I. and M. I. Dikunov participated in the creation of individual elements of the monument.
St. Mitrophan was consecrated bishop of Voronezh by Patriarch Joachim in 1682 and became the first bishop of the newly founded diocese. Possessing great statesmanship and authority among the people, Mitrophan glorified his name by many good deeds. He was an associate of Peter I in his concerns about the creation of the Russian navy. In 1832 Mitrophan of Voronezh was canonized.
