Ice Palace "Uralskaya Molniya" is a modern sports complex for the organization of competitions in speed skating and organization of training of athletes, located in the city of Chelyabinsk. Architects V. P. Kovalev, A. A. Latyshev, Zh. Yu.

Ice Palace "Ural Lightning" named after six-time Olympic champion Lydia Skoblikova was put into operation on December 28, 2004 - opened in the 40th anniversary of the triumphant performance of skater L.I. Skoblikova, who won all 4 medals of the highest category in winter 1964 at the Olympic Games in Innsbruck - 500 m, 1, 1.5 and 3.5 km respectively. Following the indoor ice rink of the Krylatskoe Sports Center in Moscow, opened in September 2004, the second standard 400-meter ice rink with artificial ice under the roof appeared in Russia.

The rink is 222 meters above sea level, so it is considered flat, but it is the highest among the indoor skating rinks in Russia, the rink in Kolomna is at a height of 120 meters, the rink in Krylatskoe at 80 meters.

The palace sustained significant damage as a result of the meteorite fall on February 15, 2013.
