Dvorniku, Balashikha
Facts and practical information
The Monument to the Courtyard in Balashikha is installed in a small park on Lenin Avenue, not far from the dam on the Pekhorka River. It was opened in September 2007. The author of the monument is Igor Chernoglazov, a sculptor from Vladimir.
It is a bronze sculptural composition on a high granite pedestal in the form of a figure of a pre-revolutionary bearded janitor wearing a cap and apron, leaning on a broom, and a mongrel dog lying at his feet. Nostalgic nature of the sculpture is emphasized by the inscription on the pedestal in the pre-reform spelling: "DVORNIK".
