Ciemnosmreczyńska Turnia, Tatra National Park
Facts and practical information
The dark -sinnian Turnia - a Turnia with a height of 2142 m in the Main Mountains between Zadnim Mnich, from which he is separated by a dark -sized switch, and the chałubiński turnian separated by a pass over the gates. The name comes from the dark Smreczyn in the Koprowa Valley.
She is similar to the nearby kopa above the gates; Both are more width than height. To the west of the dark -sinnian Turnia, two culminations are visible, formerly included in its massif, and now treated as separate hills: Turniczka Chałubiński and Kopa over the gates.
The dark -sinnian Turnia is a rocky ridge, to the pass above the gate falling down the fault. Its northern walls falling to the valley behind the monk have a height of up to 80 m, southern, falling into the Piarażysta Valley about 150 m. In the south-west wall there are three ribs separated by two depresses. The right rib creates a gully frame falling from the switch under the monk. The middle rib at the top cubins in a small turnian, at the bottom it expands significantly, occupying half the width of the entire wall, and covers with a wall about 50 m high. The left rib forms a border for a gully falling from the pass from the pass above the gates; From the side of this gully, it is undercut with clumsy walls. The most steep are the lower parts of the ribs and depression.
The first entrances recorded: in summer - Janusz Chmielowski September 13, 1904 in winter - Wiesław Stanisławski on December 31, 1929.
Stefan Komornicki and Jerzy Żuławski in 1908 proposed that the nameless at that time a dark -sinnian turnia should be called the name of the guide Józef Gąsienica Tomkowa: Józkowa Turnia. This name, however, did not accept.
