Sninský kaštieľ
Facts and practical information
The manor house in Snina is a classicist building of the manor house in Snina, which was created by the reconstruction of the original wooden building in 1781 for Countess Terézia Van Dernát.
The hill, which is located today's Snina mansion, is mentioned in historical documents under the name Lisa. The first mention of the wooden curia, which was initially located here, dates back to 1646. After Count's death, her sons sold Snina in 1799 to the mansion Jozef Rholl, the mining and metallurgical entrepreneur. Rholl also had three Herkul's statues, one of which is still in the courtyard of the mansion.
After Štefan Rholl, who did not have a male descendant, in 1857 his daughter Klára, married to Count Teodor Čák, became the heir of the mansion. In 1865, the mansion was bought by Count Coburg from Belgium and after him Count Štefan Ocskay.
On Friday, July 5, 2013, the opening of the renovated mansion took place in the courtyard of the mansion, by worship. After its end and sanctification of the mansion, the direct descendant of the then owners of the manor house and at the same time honorary citizen of the town of Snina, Dušan Roll, handed over the symbolic key to the mayor of the city, Štefan Milovčík.
