Kozí chrbát, Low Tatras

Kozí Chbát - the highest peak of Oldhors' Wierchów in Slovakia. It is located at their eastern end just above the Hiadeľské Sedlo pass separating it from the Low Tatra Mountains. Only recently Starohorskie Wierchy was separated from the Low Tatra Mountains into a separate mesoregion, so in many descriptions Kozí chbát 'is also included in the Low Tatra Mountains.
The eastern slopes of Kozía Chrbát are steeply falling to the Hiadeľské sedlo pass and to two valleys falling off the opposite side: the Barboriná Valley and Hiadeľská valley, the relative height of the peak over this pass is 231 m. West slopes fall to the Hadlanka Pass. The southern slopes fall to the Uhliarska Valley.
The peak of Kozía Chrbát is covered with old shepherd halls, thanks to which it extends from a wide panorama of the Niżne Tatra Mountains, Rudawy Slovak. Kremnickie Mountains, nearby Wielka Fatra and Wielki Chocz. The grassy ridge stretches from Kozía Chrbát to the western slopes of Kečki. The peak parties of Kozígo Chrbátu are made of limestone rocks covering crystalline rocks. Thanks to this, he is characterized by rich vegetation. On the northern slopes falling to the Barboriná Valley, the Kozí Chbát nature reserve was created.
Kozí Chrbát is easily accessible from the ski resort in Donovaly and from Korytnica-Kúpele. From Donovaly there is a much lower height difference to the approach. The red trail leads through the summit, which is a section of the Cesta Hrdinov SNP trail. It is possible to circumvent the Kozí Chrbát peak on the north side. As a result, the most beautiful and extensive views are lost, but it is useful, for example, during bad weather, when the top is devoid of views.
